It would not be summer without some cheery red. How about cherry red? Cheery cherry red!
This is my first piece for the August Stitch Along at the New Embroidery with Vintage Patterns Group on Flickr.
This month we are experimenting with modifying vintage patterns. This cherry teapot is a pattern that I put together for folks to use if they do not want to do their own. Since I adore teapots, I am doing at least three of these.
This one is very little. I have been saving the vintage fabrics just for a project like this. The creative process can take a bit though. The project is 99% finished, but I do not like it. Today's waiting time at Little Miss' physical therapy will be spent taking it all apart. We call it "reverse sewing".
If you are like me and love red embroidery, especially cherries, check these out. They are part of a Hand Embroidered Patchwork Quilt being sold in my shop to raise funds for Japan Tsunami relief.
I wonder if I should do another red teapot...

I loooove your little red teapot! would love to see more. did you use a vintage pattern or create yourself?
ReplyDeleteThanks! Click the highlighted "August Stitch Along" in the first paragraph, and it will take you to the modified vintage pattern and tell you all about it. There's a lot to tell!
