A new summery tea cup has come my way to help cheer gray days. The bottom is marked "Mikasa Jannie". I swear it does, but I cannot find any information online about it.
Hubby insisted that I bring her home when we were out and about. What a sweet guy!
The Pink Splattered Pottery Vase from the 50's was being photographed for the shop, and Janie winked at me. They do go awfully well together.

The Windswept plates in the shop would play nicely with her too. A pink and taupe tea table would be so classy. Maybe with some natural linen napkins, and sleek silver teaspoons.

The vase is a nice height, because it adds some to a table or shelf without being too tall or overbearing.
Here is a question for you all;
Is a lovely tea table an excuse to invite a friend to tea, or is having a friend to tea an excuse to set a lovely tea table?
I will be linking Jannie to these lovely tea parties.

What wonderfully complimentary colours. A great find!
ReplyDeleteJannie is lovely and looks beautiful with the vase. To answer your question ... BOTH!!! :D :D Happy Tea Day!
ReplyDeleteOh, those sets are amazing! I love how the soft pink in the cup goes so well with the beautiful pink of the vase. They really soften each other. Great choice.

That pink dish is divine. I think when we find pretty things we think it's an excuse to have friends over but really its about wanting to serve our friends our on something pretty so they have the best time ever.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful tea cup. It looks familiar but I don't see one like it in my collection right now. Found your link at Cozy Home Scenes
ReplyDeleteThe tea cup is a sweetie! I love her vintage look. As far as the tea tray question....hhhhmmmmmmmm, I like both ways : ) even though my friends are more valuable to me than furniture!lol!
ReplyDeleteAnything that gets us to sit down with friends for tea is good.
Hugs,
Terri
I think any reason is a good excuse for a tea party. Your new teacup is pretty and I like the pink crocheted doily I can see.

ReplyDeleteHey Lil' Susie, I've been using Picnik, but that is going away. It can be done with Pixlr along with other basic editing and cool effects. I'm still dreading starting to try another program. Call me a big Chicken.
