Here we are folks. The "Embroidered Veggie Market Quilt for Japan Relief" Project is starting to come together. These are the first four completed four patch panels including embroideries done by generous people from all over.
The plan was to be flexible and make whatever size of quilt we could with the donated embroideries.
However, (you knew that was coming). However, two more four patch panels would make a really nice quilt.
We only have enough embroideries for one more four patch panel.
That means if we had only two more embroideries it would be simply PERFECT!

Is there anybody out there that may have felt they could not finish one that they started on time, and did not finish? Is there anybody who wanted to join and was afraid it was too late? Are you willing to do one simply for the fun of it and help others?
Here are the two embroideries who are waiting for two new friends. I have not made these into a block in case the new ones are anthromorphic.
You may notice in the finished panels that they have one with faces per panel. That keeps them mixed up nicely, and all of the different styles look good together.
If this is the first time you have heard of the "EmbroideredVeggie Market Quilt for Japan Relief" Project this is a link to the original post. Searching here under Japan Quilt will bring up the many posts about donations and updates.
The quilt is going to be auctioned to raise funds to donate to the Red Cross for Japan Earthquake Relief.
Some folks have asked why we are doing a project for Japan instead of one of the recent American disasters. Quite simply, the earthquake in Japan was one of the first of the season. I actually started it the week of the disaster. It hit me in my heart. A lot of people do not realize that Japan did a lot for the Katrina disaster a few years ago.
Unfortunately there are always tragedies everywhere. If we all help even a little the world will be a much better place.
Our Japan Quilt still needs volunteers to help with the actual quilting if we want it to be really awesome. I can do an "okay" job, but we really want it to be wonderful. Please leave a comment or email me at momwaldsplace@gmail.com.
What a fun quilt this will be! The embroidery is just wonderful.
