Isn't it beautiful?! Not as beautiful as my friend "S" who gave it to me. She is a master thrifter and fashionista, which is a great combination. It means she dresses fabulous for a song.
She said she saw this and immediately thought of me. What a sweetheart. Then again, I remind people of teacups and she reminds people of Audrey Hepburn, hmmm.
If you've visited my place before, you know I'm an equal opportunity dish collector. Especially if it's a lovely little tea cup. When I flipped it over and saw that it is by Royal Albert though, I admit I caught my breath.
Another thing that makes this diminutive cup special is that I have my grandmother's birthday teacup. It was also made in England, and goes surprisingly well with my August one. She would be thrilled, as am I.
So much fun in one little cup! Do you have a new teacup, a particular favorite, or one that belonged to someone special? Do tell!
I love your August teacup. How sweet it is. I still enjoy my teacup from my swap with Patti and it makes me smile each time I have tea from it. Knowing I've made such a nice new friend in blogland.
ReplyDeleteI love your flower of the month's teacup!
ReplyDeleteI don't have a special cup, not yet anyway.
This is a nice series.
What a pretty cup!! Maybe I will start a tradition of getting a special tea cup on my birthday each year!!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite tea cups are the ones from special people in my life. A few years back my Aunt/Godmother sent me a package of 5 (!) teacups from her collection. That was special. And all the teacups my Mom has handed down to me - I hope to pass them on to my girls when they have their own places. Funny how such little things can mean so much to us. It breaks my heart to see so many beautiful cups at the thrift stores with no one to cherish them!
ReplyDeleteI say don't wait to be given one! Go thrift one of those poor orphans Lydia mentioned, and give them a good loving home.
ReplyDeleteWe will be seeing photos Lydia, right?!
Right on it, Mom Wald...
